Man Utd eyeing deal for Spanish striker?

Manchester United could battle it out with West Ham United to sign Porto striker Samu Aghehowa at the end of the season, according to O Jogo.

The Red Devils are likely to invest in another marksman this summer, considering the ongoing struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

The club plan to prioritise an emerging star over an experienced option, and they have sent scouts to monitor the performances of Aghehowa in Portugal.

The Spaniard signed for Porto from Atletico Madrid last year. He has been brilliant for them with 19 goals and three assists in all competitions.

Porto signed the 20-year-old for around £12.5 million. They could be willing to sanction his departure for £40m in the next transfer window.

United have thrown their name into the hat. They look poised to compete with the Hammers to sign the striker, who is already capped by Spain.

The striker was previously on the radar of rivals Chelsea, but he rejected them following a disagreement regarding his image rights.
