Gundam has so much to offer, especially since it’s been around for decades, and has been touched by many different creators over the years. Gundam has something for everyone depending on where you look, including gritty war stories, political drama, sci-fi wonder, and, of course, classic mecha action.
It’s no wonder that the series has maintained its chokehold over the mecha subgenre. Since it was one of the first, and is often one of the best at any given time, it’s maintained a steady flow of fans for some time now. If you’re into Gundam, even a little, you’ll want to check out this official announcement from Bandai Namco as soon as you can.
This October, the Gundam Card Game will introduce set “GD06,” titled Stardust Trails. The main series included this time are Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. The official release date is set for October 30, with an MSRP of $4.99 per pack and 12 cards per pack.
All the set info has been revealed by Bandai Namco, and it will consist of 135 card types:

- x36 Uncommon
- x32 Rare
- x12 Legend Rare
- x5 Special
- x8 Token
As a recap, set GD05 (Freedom Ascension)was released on July 24 earlier this year, and celebrated Strike Freedom Gundam, as well as V Gundam. Iconic cards included Sazabi, Master Gundam, Nu Gundam, Strike Freedom Gundam, Wing Gundam Zero, and pilot Kira Yamato. Mobile Fighter G Gundam also had its debut in set GD05, as well as Char’s Counterattack and Endless Waltz.
Originally announced in late 2024 with a full launch in 2025, the Gundam Card Game is a newish line from Bandai Namco, that allows players to play their favorite Gundam mecha with their favorite pilots. While the game started off with lots of nostalgic cards representing different aspects of Gundam, it’s since expanded to span almost the entire Gundam universe.
As for what’s next with the Gundam Card Game, the next big release before Stardust Trails launches in October is Heavy Dominion, the 14th starter deck product. It comes out on September 25, and is priced at $15.99, with a ready-to-play preconstructed deck, and some other extras like tokens to get started.
If you’re interested in the Gundam Card Game, keep in mind that product can be hard to come by, depending on your region. This is especially true for earlier sets, but sometimes it’s tough to even get starter decks.
