For Good Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Now that Wicked: For Good is here, is there anything after the credits teasing more for Elphaba and Glinda’s stories? The sequel to 2024’s hit film adapts the second half of the Broadway musical that became a phenomenon. And after the massive success of the first film, which made $758 million worldwide, Wicked: For Good had the pressure to end the story right.

That is, if this is where the franchise’s yellow brick road ends. With so much love and affection for Elphaba and Glinda, and some hope that Wicked 3 could happen, attention turned to whether there’s a post-credits scene after Wicked: For Good that tees up future adventures in the land of Oz.

While the first movie didn’t include one, the franchising of the IP and additional source material raised the chance of the sequel following Hollywood trends and including something in the credits.

Wicked: For Good Does Not Have A Post-Credits Scene

We can confirm that Wicked: For Good does not include a credits scene of any kind. Once the credits start to play, they are not interrupted. There’s no mid-credits or after-credits scene present for this sequel.

Instead, the credits flash the names of the main cast, director Jon M. Chu, the producers, and others before delivering the final Wicked: For Good title card. This is all set to the backdrop of more of the film’s music, giving anyone a chance to hear a bit more of the music before it completely concludes.

While there is no post-credits scene showing an important new reveal or even just fun bloopers, sitting through the credits is still recommended. It’s a great chance to see the names of everyone who worked on this movie. Additionally, watching the credits can also give you some time to recover from an emotional climax.

Anyone watching Wicked: For Good in theaters or on streaming won’t miss a credits scene if they don’t stick through it all, of course.

The lack of a credits scene allows Wicked: For Good‘s ending to remain where Elphaba and Glinda’s story ends, at least for now. The film is a great conclusion to this reinterpretation of the Wizard of Oz story, and while there is room in the books for more stories to be told, Universal has smartly opted against teasing one in the credits.

Rather than write the series into a corner depending on what a credits scene would’ve shown, there is a blank canvas for future stories to grow from, if any grow at all. And if they don’t, Wicked: For Good‘s ending remains a fitting culmination of this journey with no major loose ends to leave viewers upset.
