The drama only escalated on the fifth delivery when Hardie overpitched outside off and Brevis shuffled across before tonking it over long-off without even glancing at the ball. That made it three no-look sixes in a row and left the crowd in awe. The over still had more magic. On the final delivery Brevis reached his fifty from just 22 balls by smashing another six over deep cover, capping off an extraordinary over worth 27 runs.

Brevis blitz puts Proteas in command at halfway mark

At the halfway point of their innings, South Africa found themselves in a strong position, standing at 96 for the loss of three wickets. While they faced an early challenge, the momentum was decisively shifted by the aggressive and sensational batting of Brevis.
