UGGs Are Trending Again—Here’s How to Wear Them This Season — Autum Love

Every fall trend cycle brings back one shoe everyone swore they’d retired, and this year it’s the UGG. What’s different this time is the styling, not the boot. The silhouettes themselves have shifted — lower profiles, cleaner shapes — and they’re landing right in the middle of the season’s biggest color story: warm, rich neutrals like chocolate brown and camel, the same palette driving nearly every fall outfit idea worth pinning right now. UGGs aren’t fighting that trend, they’re built for it.

I never fully stopped wearing them, but I did stop pretending every UGG outfit automatically looks styled. The boots are cozy and visually substantial, which means the rest of the outfit needs a clear proportion: a clean jean hem, a long tailored coat, a fitted base under an oversized layer. That’s the difference between a boot that reads “I didn’t finish getting dressed” and one that reads intentional.

This refresh replaces the older skinny-jeans-heavy advice with straight denim, relaxed trousers, skirts, knit sets and the shapes actually selling out this season. The shoe can still be the comfort choice; the outfit just needs one structured element to carry it.

Why UGGs Are Back

Part of it is nostalgia, part of it is that the silhouettes themselves have changed. The Ultra Mini, the Tasman and the Tazz platform read differently than the tall Classic boot that defined the 2010s version of this trend — they’re lower profile, easier to work into a real outfit, and less likely to swallow the leg. Pair any of them with this season’s warm neutrals — camel, chocolate brown, rust, olive — and the boot stops looking like a throwback and starts looking like it was styled on purpose. Knowing how to wear UGG boots now is less about hiding them under a puffer and more about treating them like any other shoe: pick a color story, build the rest of the outfit to match, and let the boot do what it’s actually good at.

The Rule for Making UGGs Look Styled

Use the ideas below as formulas, not rules. Start with what you own, then shop only for the missing piece.

1. Ultra Mini UGGs with straight jeans
