Hulu is quietly having one of its strongest TV years yet. The best Hulu shows of 2026 showcase virtually every facet of the streamer’s brand, from prestige TV to auteur comedy to body horror.
From the strong series finale of flagship show The Bear to the surprising original crime drama Furious, Hulu has something for everyone, even without one of its biggest summer hits. For the first time since its premiere in 2021, there will not be a new season of Only Murders in the Building in the summertime.
Hulu’s biggest comedy has been renewed for season 6, which is currently filming in a new setting. The Arconia in Only Murders in the Building is more than a setting — it gives the story character and the characters a sense of history. Its location and a shared love of true crime that first brought Charles, Oliver, and Mabel together in the first place.
The show has done incredible work to find new murder mysteries only inside the building for all five Only Murders seasons — even if it had to add the West Tower in season 4. However, season 6 will leave the city that never sleeps behind as the story heads across the pond.
Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will go to London in Only Murders season 6 to investigate the death of the character who first brought them together in the first season. Tina Fey’s podcaster Cinda Canning was killed under mysterious circumstances in the Only Murders season 5 ending, which will motivate the investigation next season.
The Death Of Tina Fey’s Character Is The Central Mystery In Only Murders In The Building Season 6
Cinda Canning has been a presence in Only Murders in the Building from the beginning. Her true-crime podcast All Is Not OK in Oklahoma is what first breaks the ice between Charles, Oliver, and Mabel in season 1, inspiring the trio to launch their own podcast after finding themselves with a murder mystery of their own.
Cinda becomes a much bigger presence in season 2, bringing a sharp, snarky energy that provides a fun contrast to the trio’s more genuine, almost accidental approach to true crime. In season 3, Cinda remains an antagonistic presence when she tries to lure Mabel away from Charles and Oliver with a lucrative podcasting deal.
Her connection to the trio takes a much darker turn in the season 5 finale. After returning from the UK, where she had been recording a murder mystery podcast, Cinda reveals that she had been trying to save a young woman with bright red, curly hair.
It seems like that young woman has died just outside the Arconia, but it’s ultimately revealed to be Cinda in a wig in the Only Murders season 5 finale. That raises a major question heading into season 6: Was Cinda the intended victim, or was she trying to draw the killer’s attention away from the real woman with red curls?
Either way, Cinda’s death in (or close enough to) the Arconia gives Charles, Oliver, and Mabel a reason to leave the Arconia behind. A new setting will bring fresh faces into Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s orbit, with season 6 already boasting an impressive lineup of British guest stars.
Only Murders In The Building Season 6’s London Move Is Giving The Cast A Massive Boost
One of the most entertaining parts of Only Murders in the Building has always been its rotating cast of supporting and guest characters. Each season introduces new personalities, from Meryl Streep as Loretta Durkin and Paul Rudd as Ben Glenroy in season 3, to The Westies in season 4.
The London move allows the series to completely refresh that formula. A new setting means a new tone, and, most importantly, a new group of characters for the trio to investigate. While details about the new characters remain under wraps, season 6 has already assembled an absurdly impressive cast.

Doctor Who stars David Tennant, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker are joining the season, alongside Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent, Sherlock’s Martin Freeman, The Crown‘s Olivia Colman, and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, among many others. Each could easily carry their own prestige series, making it especially exciting to see them turn up in supporting roles and simply have fun.
The casting also gives Only Murders an opportunity to play with the conventions of British murder dramas. Tennant, Colman, and Whittaker, in particular, are associated with Broadchurch, one of the defining modern British crime dramas. Seeing them in a comedic murder mystery could allow the series to affectionately poke fun at the genre’s famously grim atmosphere and labyrinthine investigations.
For the first time in its six-season run, Only Murders in the Building is getting a new name: Only Murders in London. With this stacked cast, the move to London isn’t just a change of scenery; it’s a chance for Only Murders to have fun with the very genre that inspired it.
