A new and free PC game available on Steam has just been released, and it has already mustered up a plethora of positive reviews that will make you want to check it out. Even though the Steam Winter Sale is going on, offering several hit titles at a discount, there are some freebies being released this month. For example, Steam dropped a free game called This Winter of Ours earlier this month, which is in line with the festive season.

Now, another free game has hit the Steam catalog. As of December 26, you can download and play the game called Skybound for free on PC via Steam. There are no extra requirements, and this is a F2P (free-to-play) title, meaning you don’t necessarily have a time limit to redeem it and add it to your library, unlike some titles that were made temporarily free to claim during the month of December.

The developers mention that more acts will be developed in case Skybound is positively received on the platform. Even though it’s only been a few days since its release as a free game on Steam, there is already hope for the next few acts that follow Skybound, as the title has, indeed, been positively received by the community.

Since its release on December 26, Skybound has accrued 18 player reviews, all of which are positive on Steam (at the time of writing). Even though the quantity is considerably small, the ratio of positive reviews to negative ones, which are currently nonexistent, is reflective of its quality. Skybound is a 3D exploration platformer game, which has you explore a large and mysterious archipelago.

The goal is to uncover the secrets hidden within the islands and find ancient artifacts that can help Bell, the protagonist, to save the world. Bell has several tools at their disposal, including a grappling hook and agility boots. Moreover, they have mastery over the mystical power of Flow in this great free game on Steam.

Skybound is a superb game for players who enjoy exploration titles that focus on parkour and puzzle-solving mechanics. While the game is somewhat short, in the sense that there are three major islands to explore, this could very well be the start of something bigger. I do recommend getting it for free on Steam as we wait for the following acts to be released.
