Arjun shows courage after early setback

Arjun’s debut outing did not begin perfectly, but the youngster displayed admirable composure throughout the contest. Introduced into the attack immediately after the powerplay by LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, Arjun started confidently with sharp bouncers directed at Prabhsimran Singh.

The Punjab opener appeared troubled by the bounce and awkward angle, eventually edging one down the leg side. However, Pant failed to hold onto the catch, denying Arjun an early wicket on debut. Despite the disappointment, Arjun responded brilliantly. He kept his lines tight and conceded only four runs in his opening over without allowing a boundary.

The youngster’s second over proved challenging as Prabhsimran and Shreyas Iyer attacked aggressively, collecting boundaries and a six. But Arjun continued to adapt under pressure instead of losing confidence. When he returned for his third over, he made a smart adjustment to his lengths and angles after noticing the Punjab batters advancing down the pitch. Although Shreyas was dominating the innings with a sensational century, Arjun managed to produce the breakthrough moment of the evening. With Prabhsimran batting fluently on 69, Arjun fired in a deadly yorker that crashed into the batter’s pads right in front of the stumps.
