Developer HoYoverse has presented all the upcoming details about the Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 update, including its release date, the new characters that will be presented in the patch, the banner structure, story updates, and much more. Special codes were also presented, allowing players to grab free Stellar Jade, which could help them obtain characters from banners. Everything was showcased during the Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 livestream.

Compared to some of the previous patches in the Planarcadia arc, this is one of the largest patches the game will see, and this is due to several reasons. Not only will the Planarcadia storyline advance even further with the release of an anticipated SP character and their focused story arc, but there will also be a big collaboration in Honkai: Star Rail that will introduce two additional playable characters and a crossover event to participate in.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 – Release Date

Players won’t have to wait too much longer to gain access to the aforementioned content, as the release of Version 4.4 has already been confirmed by the developer. As was predictable based on HoYoverse’s regular release schedule for the turn-based RPG, Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 will be released on July 15 across all platforms on which the game is available. Depending on your time zone, you may be able to play the patch’s content on July 14, at night.

With the formal announcement of the release date, it’s very unlikely that the patch will be pushed back in any way. When a delay is in order, the developer usually pushes back the livestream from when it should happen. Since the livestream has happened on schedule and the release date has been announced, it’s safe to assume that July 15 is a definitive date for the upcoming patch.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 Livestream Codes

One of the main pieces of information revealed during the special event was the Version 4.4 livestream codes. In total, HoYoverse made three codes available for players to redeem, which grant them various in-game materials, like Credits and Character EXP Materials. However, each of the codes also comes with a bundle of 100 free Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail, which leads to a total of 300 free Stellar Jade.

These Version 4.4 livestream codes are limited and must be redeemed before they expire. To do so, you can access the official Honkai: Star Rail website, log in, and then redeem each code individually. Alternatively, you can use the in-game Redemption Code function by clicking the ellipsis button on the top right corner of the main menu and redeem them. Once you redeem all the codes, you must claim the rewards from your in-game mailbox to use them.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 – New Characters & Banners

During the Version 4.4 livestream, developer HoYoverse confirmed that three new playable characters are being introduced in the patch. The first of them is Himeko Nova, the now-confirmed Himeko SP in Honkai: Star Rail. Himeko Nova is a 5-star Fire character following the Path of the Erudition. As was previously leaked, the livestream confirmed that the character will be a mix between a sub-DPS and a support unit capable of breaking Tougness bars.

The other two characters are Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh, two 5-star characters who are part of the second iteration of the Fate collab with Honkai: Star Rail. Arriving directly from the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works anime, both of the characters will follow the trail left by Saber and Archer in 2025. Rin Tohsaka is a Quantum character on the Path of the Erudition, while Gilgamesh is a Lightning character on the Path of the Destruction.

Both characters will be DPS-focused units to be used in team comps, even if each of them works differently. Rin Tohsaka will use Skill Point consumption to empower herself, and she will have a unique type of gameplay interaction with Archer if he is in the team comp. Meanwhile, Gilgamesh will work better if Saber from Honkai: Star Rail is in the team comp.

During the livestream, HoYoverse also revealed the banner structure for Version 4.4. Gilgamesh will be a free 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail for every player, as long as he is claimed in time.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 – Story Updates, Fate Collab, & More

In addition to the new characters, the developer also revealed the story and playable content that will be made explorable during the upcoming patch. As was shown in the livestream, the Planarcadia arc will be pushed forward, making connections with Himeko’s past, as well as the Astral Express’ involvement with the destination. The story will also focus on the Lord Ravager known as Asat Pramad, and their influence on Planarcadia.

Furthermore, there will also be new content centered around the characters from Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, plus a ton of limited-time events that you will be able to partake in to fill in any gaps during the patch. If you’ve stepped away from the game for a while, Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 will be a perfect moment to come back to it.
