The Pokémon TCG really has become something far beyond what many would have ever expected in terms of scope. Card prices regularly reach into the thousands of dollars, and new sets are harder to buy for the average consumer than ever before, thanks to a heady combination of incredible demand and the evil work of scalpers.

That said, it’s also a really exciting time to be a collector, with all sorts of new designs coming through that we really haven’t seen anything of the same ilk before. The 30th Anniversary set is the next big new arrival on campus, but we’ve now had official confirmation of the release date for what’s to come after, and it could easily be one of the better sets of the last few years.

As first reported by Gamesradar+, Delta Reign, the next major set for the Pokémon TCG, now has a release date, with the manufacturer currently targeting a November 6 global launch. That said, dedicated fans will be able to get early access at special pre-release events starting from October 24.

The big headline this time around is Mega Rayquaza ex, which is returning for the first time since the XY era, as well as the addition of Legendary Stadiums, which essentially function as two stadiums placed alongside one another with an interconnected artwork.

In sharing a little about what fans can expect from the new set, The Pokémon Company posted the following description:

“A thunderous roar from above heralds the descent of a renowned ruler of the sky! Mega Rayquaza ex brings unparallelled strength to battle, inspiring Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex, and Mega Golisopod ex to come forth and put their own skills to the test. Prevailing winds lead to legendary places and emerald-colored storms in the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign expansion!”

Delta Reign is also set to include:

• Over 135 cards
• More new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
• More than 20 Trainer cards
• More than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations

There’s no word yet on when pre-orders for Delta Reign will open up, though it’s likely to be relatively soon if the usual pattern is observed by the manufacturer. It should be considerably easier to get ahold of than the current run of 30th Anniversary products as well, so if you have unfortunately missed out on those, then you should at least be able to get some packs to rip in the near future.
