PlayStation Plus Drops 5 Free Games You Can Claim Today

PlayStation Plus has dropped its December games for the Essential tier of the service. This time around, there are a total of five free games members can claim. Whether you’re in a horror mood this holiday season or looking to explore a LEGO world, there’s a little something for everyone in this month’s offerings.

December’s games were revealed last week on the official PlayStation Blog, and they’re live now. That means if you’re reading this, you can immediately boot up your PS5 or PS4 and begin adding these games to your library. Because it’s the end of the year, and in celebration of the holidays, PS Plus is offering up five games instead of the usual three on its Essential tier, so it’s an especially great time to be a subscriber.

PlayStation Plus Gets A Bumper December Drop

If you’ve been a little disappointed in the recent offerings on PS Plus, then December’s line-up will hopefully solve that. The five games that are out now are LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada, and Neon White. You have until the end of the month to add them to your library, but you’ll need the basic Essential subscription to snag them at no additional cost.

December’s games lean a little into the horror side thanks to The Outlast Trials and Killing Floor 3, but if that’s not your thing, then Neon White and LEGO Horizon Adventures will add a splash of color to your gaming experience. Meanwhile, Synduality Echo of Ada offers up a more dystopian sci-fi vibe.

LEGO Horizon Adventures gets top billing from PlayStation, and if you’ve been waiting to try it out, now’s your chance. While still focused on Aloy, there are a number of playable characters in LEGO Horizon Adventures, alongside the series’ iconic robotic monsters and post-apocalyptic wilderness setting. The LEGO franchise’s usual sense of humor is still in tact though.

Considering PS Plus is offering up a full five games this month, and will announce its new games for the Extra and Premium tiers soon, now is an excellent time to be a subscriber. While I’m personally most excited to give LEGO Horizon Adventures a try, there’s enough to choose from here that almost anyone should be pleased. And if you’re looking for more reasons to subscribe to PlayStation Plus, the day-one release of Skate Story is headed there on December 8, so the good times can just keep on rolling.
