A new week may be upon us, but what better way to get through it than by diving into a PlayStation title that may have just slipped under your radar? Courtesy of PlayStation demos, both PS4 and PS5 users have the chance to try out some new or upcoming titles ahead of their full launch. Not only will this allow them to try before they buy, but it could also see them provide valuable feedback to its developers. Gennady

Set to launch later this year, Gennady is a dynamic roguelike platformer with stunning visuals. Featuring black and white scenes with just a splash of neon color, this upcoming release stands out, and now, you can try it out for free. As you fight your way through shifting corridors full to the brim with chthonic creatures, you will soon discover that death is just the beginning and each reset will just make you stronger. Not only that, but with classic animation inspired by the era of Earthworm Jim, Gennady is not a release you want to miss out on this year.

Twofold

Previously released on PC but now arriving to PlayStation, Twofold is an LGBTQIA+ visual novel following the story of Olive Penn, who is trying everything they can not to drop out of college. However, when they find themselves caught between a feud between two campus club leaders, they will have to do what it takes to heal the rift before the deteriorating friendship tears the friendship apart. As the official synopsis reads, “Twofold is a story about love, family, and connection. It celebrates family of all kinds, and explores the strength (and fragility) of bonds between people.”

Fresh Tracks

Now it’s time for something a bit more upbeat, as players can check out Fresh Tracks, a story-rich rhythm game where you will need to jump, dodge, and fight to the rhythm of the gods in a music-action game which all takes place on a pair of skis. As you take on obstacles, and even bigger enemies, you will need to traverse a snow-laden landscape home to the very gods themselves. If you have rhythm and want to try a game that offers a fresh and exciting take on the genre, look no further than Fresh Tracks.

Carry the Glass

If you believe that you and your friends have a strong relationship, then what better way to test it than with this co-op platformer? In Carry the Glass, you will take on the role of two construction workers. It will be your job to carry a fragile glass window across a series of obstacles and levels and, of course, breaking the window will see you need to head all the way back to the beginning. You will need both communication and coordination in order to overcome the obstacles and solve puzzles, but will you be able to complete the job before the job completes you?

Volcano Princess

Last but not least is Volcano Princess, a parenting-simulator which will see you have to make the right choices and decisions in order to see your daughter grow up into the person she has always meant to be. Not only that, but with her set to be the next monarch, the stakes just got a lot higher. Any bad decisions will not only affect your child, but it will also affect the empire and so you will have to use RPG mechanics in order to ensure that she is fit to rule. With multiple choices and, as a result, multiple endings, this life simulator puts a unique spin on the beloved genre.
