Official Witcher 3 Livestream Getting Everyone Hyped For New DLC

Developer CD Projekt RED has announced a special livestream for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, focusing mainly on celebrating the anniversary of the Blood and Wine expansion for the 2015 RPG. It’s been over a decade since the release of the industry-shaking game and both its DLCs. At the moment, fans of the franchise are more concerned about the upcoming release of The Witcher 4, expected to occur in 2027. For now, however, the game centered around Ciri does not have a specific release window, and it could arrive in a matter of years from now.

While hope for the series has been concentrated on the next big title, there may be a bit more in store for the latest core game. According to a post made by CD Projekt RED on the official The Witcher account on X, there will be a special livestream celebrating the anniversary of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine on May 28, at 11 am ET. The livestream will be broadcast on the official CD Projekt RED channels on YouTube and Twitch.

According to the announcement, the special event will be led by the studio’s Environment Art Director, Kacper Niepokólczycki, and Senior Writer – Coordinator, Magdalena Zych. The developers will discuss the 10 years of the Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3. The post also mentions that “we’ll return once more to the land of knights, vineyards, and vampires.” Exactly what else will be discussed during the livestream has yet to be seen. However, this is happening among some wild speculation.

According to some rumors, there could be a new DLC for The Witcher 3 in 2026 – and the special livestream could very well be the stage for such an announcement, even if well beyond 10 years since the base game was released. The leaks so far indicate that the company is working on a DLC to be released in September. Other than that, the information about what it could be is scarce.

Nevertheless, with the anniversary livestream announcement, there is new speculation that the event could reveal more about the rumored DLC for The Witcher 3. Given its theme and how the studio highlighted the return to Toussaint, if the new DLC is true, it could very well take place in that same region. This could serve as a bridge between the events of The Witcher 3 and the upcoming The Witcher 4 in some way, possibly centered around Ciri.

For now, however, it’s best to manage expectations and reiterate that the rumors are just that. If there is a DLC in the works, it could, indeed, possibly show up during the livestream, even if in the form of a small teaser without an official announcement. Even so, it might be best to watch the special livestream for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and hope for the best – at the very worst, we’ll revisit one of the best DLCs of the past decade.
