Newcastle United target Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling

Newcastle United are interested in signing Raheem Sterling from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to Fichajes. Sterling has been frozen out of the Chelsea first team, with Newcastle planning to a loan move for the former Liverpool and Manchester City star.

The report notes: “Sterling has no intention of leaving English football.

“He aims to prove himself in the Premier League and show that he can still make a difference at the highest level. This motivation works in favour of Newcastle.

“The player knows that a change of environment can be decisive. At Chelsea, the pressure was constant, and the situation unstable.

“At St James’ Park, he would find a more defined project and a clear role.

“Moreover, arriving on loan reduces the initial impact. Without the immediate obligation to justify a multimillion-dollar transfer, Sterling could focus solely on regaining form and consistency.”
