Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of landing a new striker when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Red Devils looked at bolstering their striking department over the summer, but could not find a suitable solution before the deadline.
They still received offers on the table to offload Joshua Zirkzee, but the hierarchy were not willing to do so unless a replacement was recruited.
It is now claimed that United could pursue a new marksman at the turn of the year, with the likely possibility of Zirkzee heading for the exit door.
Juventus and Roma are said to be keen on bringing the Dutchman back to Serie A, while Everton are likewise admirers of the former Bologna man.
The Red Devils are open to accepting an initial loan for Zirkzee, provided there is a conditional obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.
Crystal Palace‘s Jean-Philippe Mateta is one of the club’s top targets.
