View Man City summer 2026 transfer targets
Manchester United believe they can beat Manchester City to the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer, according to The Guardian.
The Red Devils have already secured an agreement to land Atalanta midfielder Ederson, and they are aiming to make another signing in the same position.
Anderson has been high on their wishlist in recent months and The Guardian claim that United are still optimistic they can persuade the 23-year-old to choose them.
Anderson is viewed as a perfect replacement for Casemiro. He could be prised away for around £100m. Forest have already turned down a £80m bid from Man City for him.
If United were to sign Anderson ahead of Man City, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prepared to meet his weekly wage demands, which could be in the region of £150,000.
As things stand, Anderson’s future could be sorted after the summer World Cup, though interested clubs could continue bidding for his signature.
