Arsenal are prepared to pay a record salary to purchase Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Gunners are aiming high for the summer transfer window, and they want to make a statement by bringing Vinicius to the Emirates Stadium.
Talks are yet to be held with the player or Madrid, but the Gunners have decided that financial figures won’t hamper a potential deal.
The Telegraph cite that Vinicius currently earns £400,000 per week at Madrid and Arsenal have every desire to pay a much higher package.
The big question remains whether they can persuade him to join them amid his ongoing contract standoff with Madrid, which has extended for months.
Madrid have no desire to lose Vinicius on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer and they have opened the door for his potential exit.
It could take a staggering £136m to prise him away from Madrid. Los Blancos may provide some discount if Arsenal can add easy add-ons.
