Manchester United are pushing to land the signature of Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Luke Shaw had another difficult outing from left-back, and reports claim that the club could seek to sign a strong competitor to the Englishman.
Balde has been earmarked as a possible target, and reports claim that contact has been made with his agent, Jorge Mendes, over a possible transfer.
Balde is not looking for a way out of the Spanish champions at the moment, but could move on if Barcelona open the door for his departure.
The Blaugrana have not set an asking price for the La Masia graduate but reports claim that they could hold out for around £43 million.
United are also looking at Racing Santander’s Jorge Salinas. The youngster has a release clause of just £13.4m in his current contract.
