Arsenal and Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of Bayer Leverkusen star Christian Kofane, according to Bild.

The Cameroonian ace was linked with a move to the Premier League over the summer. He was first linked with Everton before Aston Villa and Newcastle United entered the pursuit.

However, Kofane made it clear that he did not want to join any of those clubs, and he ended up staying with Leverkusen for the remainder of the campaign.

This has not ended the speculation over his future and Bild claim Arsenal and United are in contact with his entourage over a future transfer.

Kofane fared well in his debut season last term with seven goals and nine assists, and he has already netted three times this campaign.

The 20-year-old has caught the eye with his hold-up play and strong physical presence and has the traits to succeed in English football.

He is unlikely to come on the cheap with his agent previously stating that Leverkusen could demand as much as €100m for his services.
