Man United tough on transfer as Galatasaray show interest

Manchester United will reject any offer for captain Bruno Fernandes amid renewed speculation regarding his future at Old Trafford.

Midfielder Fernandes’ contract expires at the end of the upcoming season, though the deal contains an option for an additional year, and he has recently been linked with several European clubs.

Serie A clubs Juventus and AC Milan have both been credited with an interest in his services, along with Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Galatasaray are reportedly preparing to offer €50million (£43m) to United for Fernandes’ services, and are said to be willing to double the Portugal international’s wages.

However, according to multiple reports, United are adamant Fernandes is not for sale.

And, with United returning to the Champions League after experiencing a rejuvenation under Michael Carrick last term, it appears unlikely Fernandes would have any interest in a move away.

United’s long-time talisman was crucial to them surging to a third-place finish in the Premier League in 2025-26.

Fernandes scored nine goals and provided a record 21 assists in the league last season, with his exploits earning him the Premier League Player of the Season award and the Football Writers Association Player of the Year award for 2025-26.

United have been relatively quiet in the transfer market, having signed just two outfield players.

However, with those two moves boosting the midfield with Andrey Santos coming in from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans signing from Aston Villa, Fernandes should have more support as he looks to help the Red Devils build on the performance of last season.

Carrick’s men start their 2026-27 campaign away at newly promoted Hull City on Saturday.
