Hulk Leads His Own Avengers Roster For First Time In 63 Years, All Members and Powers

Sixty-three years after he first (briefly) joined the Avengers, the Hulk is commanding his own roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. However, this Avengers team isn’t here to protect Earth, but to subjugate it.

Back in May, Marvel published Amazing Spider-Man #1000/Queen in Black Comic Giveaway Day 2026 #1, flashing forward to show a glimpse of the Infernal Hulk’s terrifying monster army. Now, Marvel has revealed the team are officially Hulk’s “Infernal Avengers.”

HULK WAR INFERNAL RAGE COVER WITH INFERNAL AVENGERS

The name comes from a new press release for Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein’s Hulk War: Infernal Rage #1, which will see Bruce Banner’s Hulk go up against his demonic replacement, the Infernal Hulk. The issue’s summary reads:

The war has arrived. As the remaining heroes race to find the weapon that could turn the tide, the Infernal Hulk declares the Marvel Universe his new kingdom, spreading his corruption as a battle rages both within and beyond his twisted mind.

Here’s every known member of Hulk’s Infernal Avengers, including some not included on Klein’s cover, above.

The Infernal Hulk (aka The Eldest)

An ancient demon known as the Eldest, the Infernal Hulk stole his powers from Bruce Banner by literally tearing him out of Hulk’s body. Eldest then consumed the demon god Vinruviel, gaining immense physical power, as well as the ability to summon the souls of ancient monsters.

The Infernal Hulk can merge these souls with his victims, turning them into kaiju-like monstrosities. Amazing Spider-Man #1000/Queen in Black Comic Giveaway Day 2026 #1 revealed various Marvel heroes will fall victim, with Infernal Hulk attempting to unleash a ‘new Age of Monsters’ on Earth.

Incredibly powerful – to the extent that he won a fight with an angelic enforcer sent by the One-Above-All – the Infernal Hulk sees Earth’s monsters and mutants as allies, and its heroes as oppressors. The Infernal Hulk is based out of the living city of Gologolthia, and has no mercy for his enemies.

The Infernal Iron Man (Tony Stark)

First seen in the Comic Giveaway issue, this monstrosity is a corrupted Tony Stark. The transformation is probably going to happen in Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Alessandro Cappuccio’s upcoming Infernal Hulk vs. Avengers #1, coming December 2.

The Infernal Hulk is likely targeting Tony because Iron Man directly attacked the villain, utilizing a new ‘Hellbuster’ suit powered by the spear of the One-Above-All’s angelic enforcer. While Tony was beaten down by the Infernal Hulk, he got in a few good shots, and seems to have made a lasting enemy.

It’s not yet known which monster will be merged with Iron Man, however Tony is shown as a twisted mass of flesh wearing spiky iron armor and a mask which echoes his Hellbuster suit.

The Infernal Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

Like Tony, Marverl has explicitly teased that Spider-Man will be transformed by the Infernal Hulk. Peter will be turned into a gigantic spider with a large red abdomen patterned with his iconic webbing. In a grotesque detail, Peter’s human form hangs limp under the gigantic spider.

Spider-Man’s transformation will likely come in November 4’s Infernal Hulk vs Spider-Man #1 from Johnson and Javier Pina. However, not all of Marvel’s Spider-Heroes are out of the fight. The Comic Giveaway Day issue showed heroes from the ‘Spider-Versity’ getting civilians to safety, with Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, Spider-Boy and the power mimic Spider-Girl set to act as enemies of the Infernal Avengers.

The Angler (aka Jubilee, aka Jubilation Lee)

The recent Infernal Hulk vs. Wolverine #1 (from Johnson, Jonas Scharf, Alex Guimarães and Cory Petit) seemed like it would add Logan to the Infernal Hulk’s army, but instead it turned out he was after longtime X-Man Jubilee.

The Hulk bonded Jubilee to the monstrous Angler, who enhanced her mutant ‘firework’ power, turning her into a living ocean of light, including gigantic predators. As the Angler, Jubilee can subsume her victims into her body where they’re eaten alive – and if they survive, her powers can even drive them mad.

Jinni Dagaal, The War Devil (David Bridger)

An unusual recruit, David Bridger is a soldier deployed against the Hulk in Infernal Hulk #4. Hulk bound the solider to Jinni Dagaal – a former nature spirit which turned against humankind due to their despoiling of the environment. While Bridger tried to resist, he was bound in barbed wire and fell to Hulk’s will.

Bridger commands an army of resurrected zombie soldiers, who appear to be part of Hulk’s Avengers. This role may sound more suited to Steve Rogers’ Captain America, but the Infernal Hulk seems to see him as a symbolic leader of humanity. The Comic Giveaway Day issue showed that Steve will be crucified and paraded through New York by the Infernal Avengers.

The Infernal Fantastic Four

Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1 is coming October 14, and will seemingly see the Hulk fuse the entire team into a single, dragon-like form. The Comic Giveaway Day issue showed an invisible dragon with a fiery mane, surrounded by rings of crushing rock and grasping flesh.

Unknown Harpy and Unknown Robot (Captain Marvel and the Vision?)

The final big-hitters on Hulk’s Infernal Avengers aren’t yet known, but fans have speculated they’re transformed versions of Vision and Captain Marvel, who are shown confronting Hulk on the cover of Infernal Hulk vs Avengers #1, along with Iron Man and Captain America.

The two forms echo the heroes, with Vision seemimngly becoming a robotic Biblically-accurate angel with an exposed brain, and Carol Davners becoming a harpy with a panther-like body. Both are immensely powerful, and as a synthezoid and a half-alien, it makes sense why Hulk might consider them more likely allies than some other Avengers.

With Carol’s immense power output and Vision’s versatile density control, the pair could end up being the most dangerous of the Infernal Avengers.

The Glob Demons (Robert ‘Glob’ Herman and Jamie Madrox)

As well as the singular heroes, the Infernal Avengers will seemingly be aided by various ground troops. As well as Bridger’s zombie soldiers, Hulk commands a legion of skeletal beings with transparent pink skin. These appear to be a corrupted form of the X-Men’s Glob Herman, who Hulk kidnapped in the recent Infernal Hulk #7.

Hulk managed to take both Glob and the self-duplicating Multiple Man, and may have combined them to create these freaky ground troops. Thanks to these abductions, Hulk has guaranteed the X-Men will stand against him.

However, Glob also had visions of becoming a gigantic, angelic abomination – could this be what happens when the Hulk’s Glob-derived ground troops combine into a single form?

The Hero: Bruce Banner’s Hulk

Up against the Infernal Avengers is Bruce Banner, who recently reclaimed his immense Hulk strength. Bruce stole back his blood from the shapeshifting demon Sumanguru, temporarily granting him a new ‘Grey Hulk’ form with Banner’s personality.

However, the transformation has permanently shorted out Bruce’s ability to absorb gamma radiation, suggesting that Hulk War will ultimately conclude by introducing a new Hulk to Marvel lore, replacing Banner from that point on (until he inevitably reclaims the Hulk title at some point in the future.)

The saga of the Infernal Hulk has reached its height, with Hulk War: Infernal Rage revealing the triumphant heroes of the new Age of Monsters. The transformed Infernal Avengers combine several of Marvel’s most iconic heroes with fan-favorite X-Men, each transformed into a towering monster who answers only to the Hulk.

Infernal Hulk vs. Fantastic Four #1 is coming October 14, followed by Hulk War: Infernal Rage #1 February 2027.
