English Teacher Season 2 Gets Major Release Update

A hilarious comedy show sporting a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes gets a binge-worthy season 2 release update, with new episodes confirmed to be coming soon. There are multiple ongoing comedy series on various streaming services expected to come out soon, or that have recently arrived. This includes highly anticipated shows like the upcoming The Paper, a spinoff of The Office.

However, there are also comedy shows that are coming back after a lengthy amount of time of being off the air. A recent example is Apple TV+’s Platonic season 2, which began in August 2025, over two years after season 1 ended. But there’s one show that began last year which, after almost a year, finally has a release date.

English Teacher season 2 has received an important, binge-worthy release update from FX. The sitcom follows Evan Marquez, an English teacher at the fictional Morrison-Hensley High School in Austin, Texas, navigating their conservative policies. The show has been praised critically and nominated for multiple awards. English Teacher season 2 was confirmed in February 2025, promising more comedy and commentary.

Now, FX has confirmed that English Teacher season 2 will premiere with its first three episodes on Thursday, September 25 at 9/8c. However, on Friday, September 26, the next day, all 10 episodes will be available to stream on Hulu. FX confirmed details about the new season, with Evan navigating a high school controversy and his romance with Malcolm.

In addition to the new release date and larger focus of season 2, FX confirmed English Teacher will also be tackling issues involving “climate change, COVID, military recruitment and student phone usage.” Whether each of these topics get a dedicated episode is unclear, but the show will seemingly be using its comedic angle to offer poignant commentary about these subjects.

The sitcom’s release strategy is also changing drastically. While season 1 aired week-to-week on FX, streaming after on Hulu, season 2 is going to be available on streaming right from the start, before its cable debut. This means anyone who wants to see the award-winning show’s follow-up in full can do so right after the show premieres on linear TV.

Whether this release plan will benefit English Teacher or not remains up in the air. However, the comedy series has already proven itself a critical marvel, meaning the show’s binge release may be a way to get more eyes on it. No matter its schedule, the series return is looking promising, especially for those who already have Hulu.
