Emma Kotos Plays Tish, Victim Of Euphoria Season 3’s Shocking Premiere Death

Warning: SPOILERS for Euphoria Season 3, Episode 1 – “Andale”Euphoria season 3’s premiere included the startling death of a character played by a famous face. The return of Sam Levinson’s zeitgeist-defining HBO drama pushes the story of Rue Bennett (Zendaya) and her friends from East Highland High School forward. Now in their 20s, Rue and her friends have taken markedly different life and career paths, with Bennett’s the most dangerous, if not entirely surprising.

Rue has become a drug mule, traveling across the country and into Mexico to smuggle fentanyl in her own body. Euphoria season 3‘s premiere primarily centers on Bennett’s hopes of getting out of the crippling debt she owes Laurie (Martha Kelly). A delivery to an isolated Los Angeles estate sends Rue into the orbit of Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), a notorious drug trafficker and strip club proprietor.

Rue is immediately so taken by Alamo’s life of excess that she comes to believe that God placed her with the gangster to show her a better path. However, Rue’s own life nearly ends when her delivery ends up killing one of Alamo’s prized women. Here’s what happened in Euphoria season 3 premiere’s major death, and who plays Rue’s accidental victim.

Tish’s Death In Euphoria Season 3 Premiere Explained

Rue’s drug delivery inadvertently kills Tish (Emma Kotos), one of the strippers employed by Alamo Brown. Tish got the drugs from one of Alamo’s lieutenants who she was apparently sleeping with. Unaware the pills are fentanyl-laced, Tish is soon dead, foaming out of her mouth. Tish’s death automatically makes Rue a suspect, with Alamo nearly killing her by shooting an apple off her head, William Tell-style.

How Euphoria’s Season 3 Premiere Pays Tribute To Angus Cloud & What Happened To Fezco

After Angus Cloud’s tragic passing in 2023, it wasn’t clear what would happen to Fezco in Euphoria season 3, but the premiere answered the question.

Tish’s death is just one of several startling moments in Euphoria season 3’s premiere, wherein Sam Levinson controversially abandons his HBO series’ previous cutting-edge style to resemble a film by Quentin Tarantino. However, while Tish is just a dead stripper on the surface, her guest spot has more than meets the eye.

Rue is immediately attracted to Tish when she spots the blonde stripper changing into a bikini in the bathroom. Rue wastes no time accepting Tish’s plea for help, and assures Tish that she “looks f*cking amazing” after Tish confesses she’s still sore from a boob job.

While a guest spot, Euphoria season 3’s premiere is a featured role for Emma Kotos, who quickly conveys an endearing sweetness as Tish that disarms Rue as much as her looks. Her scene with Euphoria’s series lead begins a tiny story arc for Kotos’ character, culminating in Tish’s tragic death.

The demise of Tish immediately puts Rue’s life in danger, until her bleak confession to Alamo Brown intrigues him enough to let “God decide” if Rue’s life will be spared. Rue surviving Alamo shooting an apple off of her head may indeed be divine intervention, but Tish’s death is the trigger for Euphoria season 3’s central storyline as Alamo seeks revenge on Laurie, who he suspects tried to cheat and even kill him.

Emma Kotos Played Tish In Euphoria Season 3’s Premiere

Emma Kotos Ride or Die

Euphoria season 3’s premiere is Emma Kotos’ debut in one of HBO’s biggest signature TV series seen by the network’s global audience. The California-based actor and producer is perhaps best known as an internationally renowned model, boasting 1.2 million followers on Instagram.

Emma Kotos may be a fresh face to Euphoria fans, but she has been making a name for herself as an actor for years, with a remarkable 28 credits in front and behind the camera. Before Euphoria, Kotos’ was widely seen in two episodes of the HBO series Bookie opposite Sebastian Maniscalo.

Emma’s other notable credits include the short film Ride or Die, the TV movie Pulse, the TV miniseries I Wish It Weren’t You, and the horror film Pig Hill. In addition, the multitalented Kotos was executive producer on Pulse and Ride or Die, the latter of which Emma also co-wrote.

Euphoria season 3 includes a storyline where Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) becomes an OnlyFans content creator to finance her lavish wedding plans with Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi). Cassie could learn a thing or two from Emma Kotos, who has been popular and successful on the OnlyFans platform for years.

Tish’s tragic death sets the rest of season 3’s main action in motion.

Since Tish died, Euphoria is likely a one-and-done gig for Emma Kotos, but she emerges as one of the most memorable new characters introduced in season 3’s premiere. Kotos held her own as the immensely talented Zendaya’s scene partner, and Tish’s tragic death sets the rest of Euphoria season 3’s main action in motion.

In a season 3 premiere that included a cameo by Eli Roth as “Batman,” and introduced Lost’s Mr. Eko, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, as a terrifying new villain, Emma Kotos stood out. Hopefully, Euphoria is Emma Kotos’ springboard to bigger and better roles.
