Doctor Strange And Scarlet Witch Reunion Officially Confirmed By Marvel

Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch finally reunite for what could be their biggest shared battle. Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff embody two distinct poles of the Marvel magical landscape. Strange represents the academic side of sorcery and relies on discipline and the meticulous study of the Book of Vishanti to protect reality, while Wanda Maximoff wields Chaos Magic, a volatile force that allows her to rewrite existence, often based on her instincts. Their duality creates a fascinating dynamic where Strange serves as the guardian of order while Wanda functions as a font of pure, unfiltered creation and destruction.

Despite their shared presence in a world of alien invasions and time-traveling titans, Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch’s paths don’t cross as often as one would think. In the MCU, Strange and Wanda’s first encounter is catastrophic, as Wanda’s grief-fueled descent into the Darkhold’s corruptive influence turned her into a multiverse-level supervillain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Ahead of the Avengers’ reunion in Avengers: Doomsday, Doctor Strange is off-world chasing incursions, and Scarlet Witch is officially dead.

The likelihood of seeing Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange reunite on the big screen is currently low, but not nonexistent. Meanwhile, Marvel Comics’ main Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch have a big adventure ahead of them, even if they don’t yet understand it.

Doctor Strange Finally Meets Sorcerer Supreme Scarlet Witch

A lot has happened since Doctor Strange last acted as Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme. After surrendering his title to Doctor Doom, investigating murders on Asgard, and fighting Vyrbodin and his army of Scythes, Stephen Strange is ready to face his next trial. However, before he can discover who killed the seven sorcerers of Mundaraa, Strange finds himself back on Earth, in the Sanctum Sanctorum, meeting Wanda Maximoff aka the Sorcerer Supreme Scarlet Witch, who doesn’t seem to be expecting her predecessor.

Scarlet Witch’s Sleek New Costume Is Destined to Be Her Best Marvel Rivals Skin

In a sci-fi redesign, Scarlet Witch just unlocked her ultimate Marvel Rivals costume. Here’s what you need to know about the new look.

Previously, Doctor Strange met Loki in a similar manner, and he was surprised to learn that Loki was seemingly in the middle of a killing streak on Asgard, only to discover that the God of Mischief was being framed by the Asgardian sorcerer Aslak Agnarsson. Now, neither Strange nor Scarlet Witch, let alone Angela, seem to know why Jotunheim’s only sorcerers are murdered or why Strange has been transported back to Earth.

Scarlet Witch And Doctor Strange Are Extremely Powerful And Extremely Dangerous Together

When Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch align their disparate mystical skills, the result is an unstoppable duo that can alter the fundamental laws of the Marvel Universe. During the House of M fallout and their rare subsequent encounters, Stephen and Wanda have patched up dimensions, mended magical forces, and of course, held back cosmic entities. Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch’s alliance is still inherently dangerous, though, as the sheer volume of energy they command could leave the world vulnerable to the same supernatural threats they attempt to suppress.

Besides the mystery behind the murder of Jotunheim’s Frost Giant sorcerers, Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange’s unexpected team-up may end up becoming the final line of defense against the geopolitical and physical devastation wrought by Red Hulk’s agenda in Marvel’s Armageddon. As General Ross utilizes Latveria’s instability and an army of Hulks to destabilize global governments, Strange and Wanda could use their combined magical abilities to prevent an apocalyptic event, potentially interfering with the Origin Box at the center of the event.

What do you think Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch‘s unexpected team-up will lead to?

Doctor Strange #6 is available from Marvel Comics May 13, 2026.
