Divyansh Joshi’s record-breaking ton powers Meerut Mavericks to UPT20 League 2026 title

Meerut Mavericks produced a dominant all-round performance to beat Lucknow Falcons by 94 runs and lift the Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2026 title at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. The victory gave Meerut their second championship after their title-winning campaign in 2024.

The Mavericks had already established themselves as the most consistent team in the competition by reaching the final in all four editions. Lucknow, meanwhile, were appearing in the title clash for the first time after entering the final on a seven-match unbeaten streak, but their impressive late-season run came to an abrupt end on the biggest stage.

Divyansh Joshi’s record-breaking century puts Meerut in command

Meerut were asked to bat first and got off to a strong start, with Swastik Chikara and Divyansh Joshi putting together 53 runs before Chikara was dismissed for 18 off 14 balls. Joshi then took complete control of the innings, taking the attack apart with an extraordinary range of strokes.

The opener brought up a breathtaking 105 off just 40 deliveries, smashing 12 fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 262.50. His century provided the foundation for Meerut to cross the 200-run mark despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Rituraj Sharma contributed 24 off 17, while Akshay Dubey added 15 off 10. Yash Garg finished unbeaten on 16 off 21 as Meerut reached 203/7 in their 20 overs.

Lucknow’s bowlers struggled to contain the scoring, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar returning 1/32 in four overs and Abhinandan Singh taking three wickets but conceding 40 runs. The 203-run total gave Meerut a commanding advantage on a surface where totals around the 140-150 mark had generally been competitive.

Vishal Chaudhary’s four-for ends Lucknow’s title hopes

Lucknow needed a strong start to keep the chase alive but lost wickets regularly from the outset. Ajeet Verma offered some resistance with a quick 39 off 24 balls, including four fours and two sixes, while Kritagya Singh contributed 21 off 18. However, the Falcons could not build a partnership capable of challenging the target. Mohammad Saif made 10, while Himanshu Singh and Aaradhya Yadav scored five each. Priyam Garg was dismissed without scoring, and the lower order also failed to provide the required momentum as Meerut tightened their grip on the contest.

Vishal Chaudhary was the standout bowler for the Mavericks, finishing with 4/24 to trigger the collapse. His spell, supported by Zeeshan Ansari and the rest of the Meerut attack, ensured Lucknow were bowled out for 109 in just 16 overs. Meerut’s 94-run victory completed a memorable campaign and secured their second UPT20 League title. Joshi’s spectacular century and Vishal’s four-wicket haul proved decisive as the Mavericks ended Lucknow’s run of seven matches without defeat and lifted the trophy once again.
