Destiny Officially Arrives November 2026

The Stargate franchise really managed to carve out a niche for itself in one of the most competitive genres around, and it did that by delivering a quality product that wasn’t particularly comparable to any of the titans in the space. The 1994 theatrical release was great fun in its own right, and it never really looked back from there, into the SG-1 era and beyond.

If you grew up in any of the years when the series was at its height, then you likely watched at least some of it, and it really felt ubiquitous during the late 90s and early 2000s. Though it has definitely quietened down since then, there has been a regular enough stream of projects to keep the community as a whole alive.

A big part of that was physical releases, and there’s a new one on the block that’s a collectors’ dream, and one of the most accurate renditions of an element of Stargate that we have seen to date.

Over on the official website for Master Replicas, a company that has been known for their high-quality creations attached to major franchises, you should be able to find the page for the Stargate Universe Destiny Starship Die-Cast Model. Measuring in at 8.75″, it’s one of the most beautifully detailed models of its kind that you’ll find anywhere, and a fitting rendition of one of the coolest ships from the franchise.

In letting fans know a little about what they can expect if they do decide to commit to the purchase, the manufacturer shared the following description:

“The Starship Destiny was built by the Ancients and launched more than fifty million years ago. Its role: to seed stargates and investigate a mysterious message hidden in the fabric of the universe. What happened to the ship and her crew is a mystery. The arrival of an expedition from Earth, who activated the the ship’s stargate in 2009, provided the Destiny with a new crew – and a new mission.”

It’s currently available to pre-order at the quite reasonable price of $64.99. In even better news, you won’t have to wait too long to receive it if you do decide to buy one, as dispatch is expected in November.

In a very exciting revelation for existing fans of the franchise, we’ve just received confirmation that a new Stargate TV series is in active development at Amazon MGM Studios. Led by WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer, we don’t know anything about what it will entail at this juncture, but it’s more than a sign of life from a franchise that really needed a boost. The only caveat is that we have been down this road before, until it ultimately ended in disappointment with cancellations, so best not to get your hopes up too much just yet.
