In response, the Amazon Warriors got off to a blistering start, thanks to a phenomenal knock from McDermott. The Australian batter was in scintillating form, smashing a match-winning 75 off just 39 balls, an innings that included 10 fours and 4 sixes. McDermott’s aggressive stroke play broke the back of the Patriots’ bowling attack and set the tone for the chase. He was brilliantly supported by Shai Hope, who played a composed and unbeaten innings of 56 off 39 balls. Their partnership of 114 runs was the backbone of the chase. Despite a few quick wickets towards the end, the early damage done by McDermott and Hope was enough to secure a comfortable victory for the Amazon Warriors, who sealed the win in just 17.2 overs.
