Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is expected to reinstate midfielder Enzo Fernandez in the starting line-up against Manchester United this weekend.
The Blues have been on a dreadful run in the league and recently suffered their fourth defeat in five matches after a poor display against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
They are scheduled to host the Red Devils in the top-flight on Saturday night. Ahead of the encounter, Fernandez will make his comeback after serving a two-match suspension.
The World Cup winner was suspended for the last two matches due to talking up a move to Real Madrid during the international break.
He has formally apologised for the same and looks poised to be reinstated in the squad and potentially in the starting XI against Man Utd.
Chelsea are four points behind the final Champions League spot and must beat the Red Devils to stay alive in the competition race.
The Blues will start the game as potential underdogs.
