Manchester United captain and playmaker Bruno Fernandes could leave the club during next summer’s transfer window, according to The Sun.
The Portuguese has been United’s standout player since he arrived from Sporting CP in 2020. He has established himself as a key performer with his ability to make regular goal contributions for the Red Devils.
However, his future at Old Trafford is far from certain. United’s hierarchy tried to push Fernandes through the exit door last summer amid interest from Saudi clubs, but the midfielder made the choice to stay put.
Manager Ruben Amorim also convinced him to continue at the club, but the Portuguese was recently dismissed by United. With no manager at the helm, United face a huge challenge to qualify for European football.
They are currently seventh in the league standings, but their recent run of form suggests they could struggle to stay in the race.
United players now fear that Fernandes could decide to part ways with the club next summer if they were to miss out on Europe.
