The Mummy has set a new release that will allow fans of the franchise to get ready for the next movie in the adventure series. Brendan Fraser’s Rick O’Connell and Rachel Weisz’s Evelyn O’Connell made a generation fall in love with their intense chemistry and the excellent mix of scary moments, action-packed set pieces, and humor of The Mummy movies. While there have been other mummy-focused movies since Fraser’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was released in theaters back in 2008, including Tom Cruise’s The Mummy, they did not manage to come near what Fraser’s adventure franchise accomplished.

Thanks to how Fraser’s career has been revitalized in recent years, including a Best Actor Academy Award win for The Whale, The Mummy 4 was put into development. The project will bring back many stars from the original trilogy, with Weisz back as Evy despite the fact that the role had been recast for Tomb of the Dragon Emperor with Maria Bello. There are also exciting additions to the cast of the franchise, with Obsession star Michael Johnston joining The Mummy 4 in a mysterious role. Before The Mummy 4 arrives in theaters on October 15, 2027, there is an exciting release.

Brendan Fraser’s The Mummy Movies Are Getting A New Streaming Home

Both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are coming to Peacock on October 1. The first movie in the adventure franchise was released in theaters in 1999, while The Mummy Returns came out in 2001. Peacock subscribers will be able to prepare for The Mummy 4 by rewatching the two movies that will directly matter to the film’s plot. While the franchise’s latest release was 2008’s The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, The Hollywood Reporter claimed in November 2025 that The Mummy 4 would disregard what happened in the third movie of the adventure franchise. Only the first two matter.

Fraser’s first two The Mummy movies will land on Peacock at the perfect time, as they will be ready for both franchise fans and new viewers to devour over the month of Halloween. Also arriving at Peacock in October, alongside The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, there will be many horror movies. Some of those include multiple Cloverfield movies, the evil Superman-like film produced by James Gunn Brightburn, the Wesley Snipes Blade trilogy, multiple Friday the 13th movies, and many more. Fans of The Mummy franchise will also be able to watch its spin-off/prequel, The Rock’s The Scorpion King, on Peacock on October 1.

What’s The Latest On The Next Mummy Movie?

The Mummy 4 story details are being kept under wraps, but the first looks at its stars have started to come out now that the movie has started filming. First, The Mummy 4 set photos revealed Weisz’s return as Evy for the first time since 2001’s The Mummy Returns, with the character wearing vintage clothes that suit the era the adventure movie takes place. More recently, the first look at Fraser’s return as Rick O’Connell made its way online, revealing that Rick seems to be the owner of a racing team, driving a rocket car. The Mummy 4 hype starts on Peacock in October.
