Bournemouth midfielder Scott keen to end winless Premier League run

Alex Scott believes the Bournemouth squad must “stick together” as they look to end their poor stretch in the Premier League.

The Cherries are winless in six Premier League games (D2 L4), failing to score in consecutive league games under Andoni Iraola for the third time (also in September 2024 and October 2023) after their goalless draw with Chelsea.

Bournemouth registered 13 shots against the Blues last time out, their most without scoring in a Premier League home game since February against Liverpool (14).

Only Burnley (0) and Wolves (0) have picked up fewer points than the Cherries across the last five matches in the English top-flight, leaving them 13th in the standings.

However, they are still just five points behind Enzo Maresca’s side in fifth place, and Scott remains optimistic that Bournemouth can put together another impressive run.

“It’s been tough and it’s just been important that we stick together,” Scott told the club website.

“I don’t think the performances have been too far off where we were at the start of the season, it’s just results haven’t been going our way.

“This is the Premier League. You are playing against top opposition every single week.

“We’ve not been too far off our best, it’s just things haven’t been happening for us. We’ve not been great defensively, a lot more set-piece goals going in against us.

“Stuff like that we’ve had to tighten up and the head coach is massive on that in keeping us together as one unit.

“We know how good we can be when we are at our best and it’s important that we do our best now to get back to our level.”

Bournemouth face Manchester United at Old Trafford in their next league game before a home match against Burnley precedes trips to Brentford and Chelsea to close out the year.
