The fabric on the newborn carrier is extremely soft and the wider straps make it more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. My nephew came into town with his son and we all took turns carrying the baby around while sightseeing. I am not used to carrying a baby for hours at a time so I was sore but the weight was evenly distributed rather than being mostly on the shoulders like with other carriers. This carrier is intended for newborns weighing between 7-25 pounds with baby facing in or out.
I have reviewed a lot of baby carriers, and this one is a 5-star. First off is material is soft. I have had ones that say breathable mesh, but it is not soft on the baby’s skin. (You need something soft that when there is movement and the fabric moves gently over baby’s skin, it is soft, and not a mesh) I like the wide straps over the shoulder and back. The fabric is stretchy to give that head/neck support. This truly does “hug” and support baby and the price is reasonable.
