Rogers on Arsenal radar

Arsenal are expected to explore a move for Morgan Rogers this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to add more flexibility and power to his attacking options ahead of next season. The Aston Villa forward has enjoyed a rapid rise over the past year and is now viewed as one of the most versatile young attackers in the Premier League.

One of the biggest attractions for Arsenal is Rogers’ ability to operate comfortably across multiple positions. While naturally effective from the left wing, he is equally capable of playing through the middle, either as a false nine or in an advanced attacking midfield role. That adaptability is becoming increasingly valuable for top clubs competing across several competitions.

There is growing belief that Arsenal could reshape parts of their frontline during the summer window. Gabriel Martinelli has struggled to consistently hit the heights of previous seasons, while Leandro Trossard continues to attract interest from clubs abroad. Rogers could arrive as a direct alternative on the left side, offering more physicality, ball carrying ability and creativity in tight spaces.

However, Arsenal’s interest may not be limited to the wide areas alone. There is also some uncertainty surrounding the long term future of Martin Odegaard. Although the club captain remains central to Arteta’s plans, there have been quiet concerns over depth and creative balance when he is unavailable or out of form. Rogers’ comfort playing centrally could make him an appealing option to help ease that burden.

At 23, Rogers fits the age profile Arsenal have consistently targeted in recent years. The club’s recruitment strategy has focused heavily on players entering their peak years while still offering room for development. His Premier League experience also means he would require far less adaptation than many overseas signings.
