Alex Scott has withdrawn from the England squad and could miss the next two months with a quad injury.
The Bournemouth midfielder sustained the injury during his first international start against Croatia on Saturday, playing 70 minutes before being replaced by Everton’s James Garner.
The 23-year-old will undergo further tests when he returns to the South Coast club but The Athletic are reporting he could be absent for up to eight weeks in what will be a bitter blow to Cherries boss Marco Rose.
He has already been ruled out of Tuesday night’s game with Czechia at Wembley.

Scott stars for Bournemouth
Scott has been a key player for Bournemouth this season, starting all five games, scoring once and adding an assist.
He also made a huge impression with England, looking very comfortable alongside Elliot Anderson and Jude Bellingham in a midfield three that was instrumental in the Three Lions cruising to a 7-0 win in Rijeka.
Scott has grown in prominence since joining Bournemouth in 2023 from Bristol City and is now widely regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the country.
Rose’s side have yet to win in the Premier League this season, recording three draws and two defeats. They visit Chelsea when the league resumes this weekend before home games against Sturm Graz, in the Europa League, and Sunderland.
