The Expanse may have come to an end back in 2022 after six seasons and two different distributors, but with the hit sci-fi television show still boasting a dedicated fanbase, it is no wonder that we are still eager for more.

First airing back in 2015, The Expanse was set in a universe where humanity had successfully colonized the Solar System. However, with a growing threat planning on disrupting the galaxy’s peace and alien technology threatening an existential crisis, it is up to a ragtag crew of spacefarers to immerse themselves in a conspiracy and unravel it from the inside.

With 62 episodes under its belt, The Expanse has been one of the most successful sci-fi television shows in recent years, but now, it seems as though the universe is set to expand even more with an exciting six-part prequel.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series was an episodic adventure game set in The Expanse universe and released by Telltale Games and Deck Nine, with Telltale being the brains behind the likes of The Walking Dead Game.

Five episodes launched between July and September 2023 and in April of this year, The Expanse: A Telltale Series Standard Edition received its Nintendo Switch 2 version. However, what appealed to most fans of the sci-fi franchise, is that it serves as a prequel to the hit show, shedding more light on the events we know well.

Take on the role of Camina Drummer and explore the dangerous, uncharted edges of the Belt. From scavenging wrecked ships in a zero-g environment, to combating fearsome pirates, you make the difficult choices in this latest Telltale adventure. All five episodes playable at launch!

However, if you are a true fan of The Expanse and have yet to check out its Telltale series, you will be pleased to learn that you can now pre-order Switch Limited Run #341: The Expanse: A Telltale Series Standard Edition for the Nintendo Switch now.

Available on Limited Run Games, this stunning edition comes in at £40 for both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, and if you pre-order it now, you are guaranteed to receive it from Jan 1 – Mar 31, 2027.

However, that is not the only exciting news relating to The Expanse‘s deep dive into the gaming sphere. That is because in Q2 of 2027, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is set to launch across all platforms, offering players a third-person action RPG set in the much-loved universe.

By the 24th century, humanity has conquered the cosmos. However, life has remained anything but easy. In The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, a story-driven sci-fi Action RPG, you play as a Pinkwater Security mercenary whose brief shore leave on the asteroid Eros spirals out of control. Trapped in a deadly lockdown and drawn into a solar system-wide conspiracy far beyond your control, you’ll have to adapt, survive, taking command of the most advanced ship in the whole of the solar system.

Create your own captain, build your crew, and take to the skies as you make choices which shape your destiny and fight to save humanity. So, if you are missing The Expanse, you have no reason to worry with these two stunning releases arriving in 2027.
