Martinez tells Villa he wants United move

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has informed the club’s hierarchy that he wishes to join Manchester United before the deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have explored the transfer market for a new goalkeeper this summer and they are now expected to choose between Senne Lammens and Martinez.

Lammens is a player with immense potential but the Belgian has not given the green light yet to join United. Martinez, on the other hand, has said yes to the Red Devils and he is actively pushing for a move before the window closes.

The Red Devils have previously been told to pay 40 million pounds for the experienced World Cup winner, but the price tag could go down with the player asking for a transfer.

It won’t come as a surprise if United look into a loan deal with a buy obligation next summer, given they are also keen on landing a defensive midfielder before the deadline.
