Sunderland are monitoring Matteo Palma and are preparing to make a €15 million bid for the Sampdoria player before the summer transfer window closes.

The Wearside club are hoping to move quickly in the final stages of the window, with Palma understood to be a live target as they assess potential additions to the squad. A bid worth around €15m is now expected, with Sunderland aiming to secure an agreement before time runs out in the market.

Palma is currently with Sampdoria, and Sunderland’s interest points to a willingness to invest a significant fee if the right deal can be struck. At this stage, the proposed offer has been framed as a move Sunderland are set to make, rather than a completed negotiation, and it remains to be seen how Sampdoria will respond if a formal approach arrives.

The closing weeks of the summer window often place pressure on clubs to accelerate talks, particularly when fees, player terms and replacement plans all need to be resolved. Sunderland appear keen to avoid leaving the matter too late, with the club hoping that an early and decisive bid can improve their chances of landing Palma.

A €15m package would represent a notable commitment, and any transfer will depend on whether Sampdoria are willing to sell and whether Palma is open to the move. Sunderland’s recruitment plans are therefore expected to remain in focus until the deadline, with Palma emerging as one of the names to watch.
