Chelsea are weighing up a surprise move for AC Milan centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues recently saw the long-awaited return of Levi Colwill from a serious knee injury, but they are eyeing another left-footed centre-back.

Pavlovic has caught their eye amid his impressive performances for the Rossoneri in Serie A. The Serbian is a strong ball-playing central defender and has also impressed with his aerial and physical presence.

Milan are pushing for Champions League football with a top-four league finish. Regardless, they are expected to consider offers of £43 million for Pavlovic as they seek to balance their financial books.

Manchester United and several Saudi Arabian clubs have contacted the player’s entourage, and Chelsea have now joined the pursuit of the 24-year-old, who is open to a new challenge away from Serie A.
