Citadel Season 2 Release Reportedly Delayed Amid Financial Concerns & Studio Disappointment

With the first season already being one of the most expensive TV shows ever, Citadel season 2 is now under closer watch as its release might be delayed.

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter states that Citadel season 2’s release is being delayed by Amazon MGM. Sources told the publication that the studio is “unhappy with what they have seen so far” of season 2’s material, which wrapped filming in November 2024, as well as concerns of the show’s ever-ballooning budget. The show was reportedly being planned for a Fall 2025 release, now said to be scheduled for a Spring 2026 premiere, though one source did indicate the studio has not set a date.
