Xbox Game Pass is one of the highest-valued subscription services in gaming, and they’ve recently rolled out a new Free Play Days feature to rival PlayStation Plus’s try-before-you-buy Free Trial feature. Free Play days give Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential subscribers access to new games for free for a limited time.

From December 4 to December 7 (via Xbox Wire), Xbox Free Play Days include six new titles available free of charge for Game Pass Subscribers across all tiers. These titles include Bassmaster Fishing, Everspace 2, Astria Ascending, Way of the Hunter, three Destiny 2 expansions, with the 2019 hit RPG Descenders being made available to all Xbox users, even those without a Game Pass subscription.

Xbox Free Play Days Includes Six New Games

The newest Free Play Days games include a stacked lineup of great entries that are well worth checking out while they’re free. Everspace 2 is an ARPG from Rockfish Games with an 81 on Metacritic that incorporates fast-paced action and combat and quintessential RPG progression systems.

Astria Ascending is another great free-to-try RPG on Free Play Days this weekend, and takes place “in the fantasy world of Orcanon” following “a group of demigods called the ‘Fated Eight.'” Further, hugely popular FPS Destiny 2 is getting three major expansions available for free for a limited time, which include The Final Shape, Lightfall, and The Witch Queen.

Maybe the best deal of this weekend’s Free Play Days has to be Descenders, though, a 2019 hidden gem cycling game with admittedly outdated graphics but incredible gameplay that is well worth trying out while it’s up for grabs.

How To Start Playing

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can find the Free Play Days games in their Xbox home or on the Microsoft Store. After hitting your Xbox center button, navigate from Store > Home > Subscriptions, then scroll down to the “Free Play Days” section to find the current lineup of games.

Free Play Days are a great new service on Xbox Game Pass that are well worth taking advantage of, but you need to be quick. The current games will only be available through the weekend, with new games being added every week. If you aren’t a Game Pass subscriber, you can still play Descenders for free this weekend, but even the lowest Essential tier will get you access to all Free Play Days games going forward.
