Why Marvel Should Move Forward With Its Harry Potter Replacement Project Explained By MCU Zelma Stanton Actress

WARNING: This article includes MAJOR spoilers from Ironheart episode 6.Following the conclusion of Ironheart episode 6, Zelma Stanton actress, Regan Aliyah, addresses the potential Strange Academy series from Marvel Studios. While it remains to be seen if Ironheart season 2 will happen, the finale planted seeds for a different possible continuation of at least one major storyline in the MCU timeline.

In the Ironheart post-credits scene, Parker Robbins, following his loss of his hood, turns to Zelma, in the hopes of some “supreme” assistance. This is meant to serve as a nod to the potential setup for the live-action Strange Academy TV show that was previously in development.

In a new interview with Inverse, Aliyah was asked if the Ironheart ending could lead to the hypothetical Strange Academy show. Aliyah, like many other fans, is hoping for Strange Academy to become a reality, and she stated that it could serve as a replacement for the Harry Potter franchise.

All I can say is ‘I hope so.’ Strange Academy could do something really, really cool, and tap a market that people are dying for. The reason that Harry Potter is what it is because it really takes you to a world beyond what you know. So many people wish they could support Harry Potter nowadays. They’re itching for something new that they can be super-fans of again. And in my head, Strange Academy could really fill that space.

Strange Academy was one of three MCU series that were in development before they were put on hold in light of Marvel Television retooling their approach to TV shows from Marvel Studios. What Marvel Television is trying to do now is focus on shows that can last for multiple seasons instead of six-episode events.

After the Ironheart episode 6 ending, it is possible that Marvel Studios wanted to see how fans respond to the tease in the post-credits scene before deciding if Strange Academy is something they want to pursue. But given that Marvel Studios is focusing heavily on finishing up The Multiverse Saga, it may take a while to hear about Strange Academy.

Hearing Aliyah’s comments about how Strange Academy could bring something Harry Potter-inspired to the MCU shows that there is clearly interest even from actors involved in the franchise to see this happen. It would also be a way for the MCU to explore the magical corners of the franchise more regularly, similar to Ironheart and Agatha All Along.

From Aliyah’s comments about Strange Academy, having that move forward, perhaps even after Phase 6, would be a better idea for the MCU, especially under Marvel Television’s process. After seeing how things went down in Ironheart episodes 4-6, which explored the MCU’s magic even more, it’d be a lost opportunity not to go further with Strange Academy.

Strange Academy would also be a way to utilize other supernatural-based characters in the MCU who have been sidelined for quite some time. Hopefully, following Aliyah’s comments and the end of Ironheart, Marvel Studios will make an attempt to get Strange Academy underway.
