3. On The White Lotus, an American in Thailand (this one, if you don’t mind the spoiler!) saying during a romantic scene, “Just so you know, I’m just, I’m, this is consent… do you guys do that here? We just started.” We just started, omg how I laughed/cried.

4. Everything Aminatou Sow writes, including this paragraph on swimsuits: “After I posted about my beach trip, I got a few inquiries about swimsuits and honestly you should be looking at someone else for swimsuit recs. Here’s my deal. The mechanics of women’s swimwear drive me nuts but I’ve found peace in categorizing them in one of 2 ways: display suits and get in the water suits. Like this high-leg one is very fun but do not even click on the link if you are self conscious about your hips or the state of your pubic hair. It’s just not for you and that’s OK. On the other hand, here is a very good sun-protective, get-in-the-water suit. It also absolutely works as a display suit. Very strong look. Very in solidarity with Islam and we love that over here.”
