Hot off the heels of its multiplayer reveal, Battlefield 6 is already holding an open beta spanning two consecutive weekends. Players will be able to try a limited number of maps and game modes during two beta periods: August 7-10 and August 14-17. This is two months out from BF6‘s full release, and will give prospective players an idea of what to expect from Battlefield‘s big comeback.

There are some major caveats, though. The first two days of the first weekend, August 7 and 8, are reserved for those who have obtained early access to the beta (more on how to get that below). The true open beta doesn’t begin until August 9, at which point anyone can play. If you’re keen on playing as much Battlefield 6 as possible to complete the beta challenges, you’ll want to make sure you have the game pre-loaded and ready to go when the servers go live.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Pre-Load Is Available Now

On All Platforms

The Battlefield 6 open beta is being held on every platform that the full game is available on: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Every platform already has access to the beta client for the purpose of pre-loading it. On PS5 and Xbox, simply navigate to the built-in storefront, search for Battlefield 6, and download the beta file.

On PC, you have three options, since the BF6 beta is playable through Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app. Regardless of which platform you’re playing on, it’s recommended that you link your EA account – instructions on how to do so are provided by EA here. Linking your EA account is doubly important if you have early access to the beta, as your eligibility is linked to your EA account.

Look Out For Twitch Drops

Battlefield 6 open beta early access begins on August 7 at 08:00 UTC, according to EA‘s website. This is the universal start time, so here is a table of time zones and when early access begins in each.

If you signed up for Battlefield Labs previously, you should already be entitled to participate in the early access period. You also may have received early access via Twitch Drops if you watched any streamers immediately after the Battlefield 6 multiplayer reveal on July 31. If you’re still looking for an early access code, you can get one by watching Battlefield 6 on Twitch during the early access period on August 7 and 8. Codes can then be redeemed here.

When The Battlefield 6 Open Beta Starts Each Weekend

Same Time, Different Days

The 8:00 UTC start time is standardized across the three beta segments – early access, open weekend one, and open weekend two. For clarity’s sake, the first fully open weekend of the Battlefield 6 beta begins on August 9 at 08:00 UTC. See the table below for individual time zones.

The second fully open weekend of the BF6 beta begins on August 14 at 08:00 UTC, with the table below delineating what that corresponds to in different time zones.

The second weekend does not have any perks for those with early access; the beta’s early access period is only those first two days, August 7 and 8. If you pre-load Battlefield 6‘s open beta, you should be able to search for a match as soon as the servers go live at the above times.
