The IPL 2025 clash between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru had plenty of drama, but one moment that set social media abuzz was Virat Kohli‘s animated send-off to Shreyas Iyer following a crucial dismissal in the first innings.

On the fourth delivery of the 8th over, PBKS skipper looked to break the shackles by launching Romario Shepherd over long-on. However, the shot didn’t go as planned — the ball took the outside half of the bat and soared high in the air. Krunal Pandya, patrolling the long-on boundary, sprinted to his left and completed a sharp catch on the move, leaving PBKS stunned.

It was a pivotal breakthrough for RCB, as Iyer was shaping up to anchor the Punjab innings. The RCB camp erupted in joy — but it was Kohli’s reaction that stole the show.

RCB coast to victory with Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in top form

Chasing 158 for victory, RCB made light work of the target, finishing at 159/3 with 14 balls to spare. Kohli anchored the chase with a magnificent 73* off 52 balls, peppered with 7 boundaries and a six. He was well-supported by Devdutt Padikkal, who hammered a classy 61.

Earlier, PBKS managed 157/6 in their 20 overs, with Prabhsimran Singh top-scoring with 33. For RCB, Pandya (2/25) and Suyash Sharma (2/26) were the standout bowlers.
