Rohit’s promising knock during India’s successful chase
Rohit was part of India’s top order during the first ODI and opened the innings alongside captain Shubman Gill as the hosts chased a target of 296 runs. He provided India with a solid beginning before being dismissed for 32.
Although Rohit could not convert his start into a substantial score, India remained firmly in control of the chase. Gill and Virat Kohli took charge after the early phase of the innings, with both batters going on to score centuries.
