Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant grabbed headlines after an emotional post-match interview following LSG’s crushing defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2026. The wicketkeeper-batter unexpectedly dropped an F-bomb during the presentation ceremony while defending his struggling side, and the clip instantly went viral across social media platforms.
LSG’s latest defeat marked their ninth loss of the season and further deepened their misery at the bottom of the points table. The franchise, which had already endured a disappointing 2025 campaign with a seventh-place finish, has slipped even further this year under mounting pressure.
Rishabh Pant uses ‘F’ bomb after LSG suffers defeat against Rajasthan Royals
Pant’s candid remark came during a conversation with commentator Ian Bishop after the game in Jaipur. Asked about the morale inside the camp despite poor results, the LSG skipper passionately defended his teammates and their abilities.
While speaking about the team’s confidence and belief, Pant became emotional and ended his response with a line that immediately caught fans’ attention online.
“We are proud as a team regardless of what our situation is right now. The kind of team we have, we know we can win this. Regardless of anything, we are confident enough as a team and as individuals. It hasn’t gone our way, and everyone knows that, but that doesn’t take away the fact that we are a fu****g good team,” said Pant at post-match chat.
The statement quickly spread across social media, with fans reacting to Pant’s frustration and honesty after another painful defeat. Many supporters sympathised with the captain, who has endured a difficult season both personally and professionally.

Tough season continues for Pant and LSG
IPL 2026 has been far from ideal for Pant. Apart from LSG’s struggles on the field, the left-handed batter has also faced criticism over his batting form and tactical decisions as captain. Matters became even tougher after India’s recent squad announcement for the Afghanistan series, where Pant was removed as vice-captain of the Test side and omitted from the ODI squad.
The pressure surrounding Pant has visibly increased over the last few weeks, and his emotional response after the Jaipur defeat reflected the frustration building within the LSG camp. Despite flashes of brilliance throughout the season, Lucknow have repeatedly failed to close out games. Their latest outing followed a similar pattern.
Rajasthan Royals pull off stunning chase
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants posted an imposing 220/5 in 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh led the charge with a blistering 96 off 57 balls and looked set to power LSG towards an even bigger total. At one stage, Lucknow were cruising at 151/2 in just 12.2 overs. However, the innings lost momentum dramatically at the death, with the side managing only 26 runs in the final three overs.
That slowdown eventually proved costly as Rajasthan Royals produced a sensational chase. Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the show with a breathtaking 93 off just 38 deliveries at a staggering strike rate of 244. Dhruv Jurel also played a crucial hand with a composed 53 as RR chased down the target in 19.1 overs with five balls remaining.
The victory lifted Rajasthan to fourth place in the standings and kept their playoff hopes alive, while LSG were left searching for answers after yet another disappointing night.
