Toronto FC head coach Robin Fraser believes his in-form side can improve further, especially when having a numerical advantage.
The Reds are sixth in the Eastern Conference after seven MLS games ahead of their matchup with Austin FC on Saturday.
Toronto, who are four games into a nine-match home stand, are also unbeaten in their last five games (W3 D2) after losing their first two matches of the season.
They are also tied for the second-most points gained (six) from losing positions this season, fewer than only Inter Miami (eight).
Toronto had only gained eight points from losing positions in all of 2025, when they finished 12th in the East.
However, the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man FC Cincinnati last time out, conceding a 92nd-minute equaliser at BMO Field.
That came after a 3-2 win over the Colorado Rapids, who were down to nine men in that match.
Though Fraser believes Toronto are on the right path, he insisted they can become more ruthless in such situations.
“We’ve given up three goals being up a man in the last two weeks, and that should never happen,” Fraser said.
“It’s always a positive at least that you’re picking up points.
“I feel like being up a man, being at home, having decent control, scoring a goal, it felt a lot like two points lost, but at the end of the day, you still get a point.
“We’re still moving forward; we’re still accumulating points moving forward.”

Austin have struggled at the start of the 2026 campaign, winning just one of their opening seven games (D3 L3) to leave them 13th in the West.
Their misery was compounded during the week after they were knocked out of the U.S. Open Cup by Louisville City.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Toronto FC – Alonso Coello
Coello impressed in last week’s draw against Cincinnati, creating a match-high four chances and recording a team-high 74 touches.
The midfielder also won eight of his 15 duels, while attempting the most tackles (five).
Austin FC – Brad Struver
Stuver recorded his 65th regular-season match with five or more saves for Austin last Saturday, in a 2-1 defeat against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
That is the most by any goalkeeper over the last six seasons, and 23 more than the goalkeeper with the next most (42 games – Kristijan Kahlina).
MATCH PREDICTION – TORONTO FC WIN
Toronto extended their home unbeaten streak to 11 games (W4 D7) with their draw with Cincinnati, tied for the third-longest streak in the regular season in club history.
The Reds have nine home draws since the beginning of last season, tied for the most in the regular season during that time.
Toronto and Austin meet for the third time, with the home team winning the previous two meetings (Toronto in 2024, Austin in 2023).
Austin have just one win in their eight trips to Canada (D1 L6), which includes a current six-match winless stretch (D1 L5), as their lone win came at Montreal in 2022.
Four of Austin’s eight goals this season have been headers, tied for the most in MLS with the New England Revolution, after recording a league-best 12 headed goals in 2025. No other team has had more than 37.5% of their goals this season come via headers.
OPTA WIN PROBABILITY
Toronto FC – 47.8%
Draw – 26.1%
Austin FC – 26.1%
