These are the best and most-nominated TV shows and limited series you can completely binge-watch before the 2025 Emmy Awards take place this Sunday, September 14, 2025. The ceremony will be broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ live from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.

Some of the top contenders at the 2025 Emmys have too many seasons to reasonably binge-watch between now and Sunday evening. They include The Bear (Season 4), Hacks (Season 4), Only Murders in the Building (Season 4), Slow Horses (Season 4), What We Do in the Shadows (Season 5), The Righteous Gemstones (Season 4), Abbott Elementary (Season 4), and Bridgerton (Season 3), all of received have 5 or more nominations.

Shrinking

The second season of Apple TV+’s Shrinking is up for 7 Emmy Awards this year, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Jason Segel, Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Harrison Ford, and Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Jessica Williams.

This is Ford’s first-ever Emmy nomination and the second nomination for both Segel and Williams for their roles as Jimmy and Gaby on Shrinking. The series improved to a 97% Rotten Tomatoes score for season 2 from season 1’s 91%. It consists of 22 episodes, all roughly half an hour each, making it possible to binge before Sunday. Season 3 will premiere in 2026.

Dying For Sex

The Hulu miniseries Dying for Sex received 9 Emmy nominations this year, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Lead Actress in Limited or Anthology Series for Michelle Williams, Supporting Actor in Limited or Anthology Series for Rob Delaney, and Supporting Actress in Limited or Anthology Series for Jenny Slate.

Dying for Sex received a near-perfect 98% Rotten Tomatoes score but didn’t achieve as much buzz as other series in its category, making it a top sleeper contender. At just eight episodes, all about 30 minutes each, you could binge this acclaimed medical drama before the weekend.

Black Mirror

While binge-watching all seven seasons of Black Mirror before Sunday is near impossible (and likely psychologically damaging), you luckily won’t have to since only season 7 of the dystopian sci-fi anthology series is in contention at the 2025 Emmys.

Black Mirror season 7 is up for 10 awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Lead Actress in Limited or Anthology Series for Rashida Jones, and Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series. Black Mirror season 7 does include its first-ever franchise sequel episode, “USS Callister: Into Infinity”, so make sure you’ve at least the season 4 original episode before diving into the 6-part seventh season.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was one of the most-watched miniseries on Netflix last year. It’s technically the second season of Netflix’s Monster franchise, following 2022’s Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story​​​​​​​ earned 11 nominations, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series​​​​​​, and already won the award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys earlier this week. It consists of nine hour-long episodes. Season 3 premieres in October.

The Pitt

HBO Max’s gripping medical drama The Pitt received 13 nominations for its debut season, including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Noah Lyle, and Supporting Actress in a Drama Series ​​​​​​for Katherine LaNasa. It has already won two awards – Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Shawn Hatosy and Casting for a Drama Series​​​​​​.

The Pitt also earned an impressive 95% Rotten Tomatoes score along with several Emmy nominations in the Writing and Directing categories. Season 2 will premiere in January 2026.

Adolescence

Netflix’s groundbreaking miniseries Adolescence is the frontrunner in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category. Netflix is certainly hoping to 3-peat in the category after Baby Reindeer’s massive success in 2024 and Beef’s domination in 2023.

Adolescence has a total of 13 nominations and is also up for Lead Actor in Limited or Anthology Series for Stephen Graham, who co-created the series, and Supporting Actor in Limited or Anthology Series, which would make him the youngest male Emmy winner in history. Adolescence picked up 2 wins in Casting and Cinematography earlier this week.

Andor

The second and final season of the Star Wars spinoff series Andor received 14 Emmy nominations this year. At two seasons and 24 episodes, it would make for a hefty binge-watch this week, but one that would be worth it for many Disney+ subscribers.

Andor season 2 has already won 4 2025 Creative Arts Emmys for Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, Production Design, Editing, and Special Visual Effects. It will be up for Outstanding Drama Series, Directing, Writing, and more this Sunday.

The Last of Us

The Last of Us season 2 may have been more divisive than its phenomenal debut season, but that didn’t stop it from earning 16 Emmy nominations this year. It’s up for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Pedro Pascal, and Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Bella Ramsey. It already won the award for Sound Editing earlier this week.

The Last of Us season 2 still managed to earn a 91% Rotten Tomatoes score, only a slight decrease from season 1’s score of 96%. Season 2 only has seven episodes, which can easily be watched before the weekend for those who have already seen season 1.

The White Lotus

The White Lotus season 3 received a total of 23 nominations, the most of any anthology series in this year’s Emmy pool (even though it’s categorized as a drama series). It already won this year for Original Main Title Theme Music and will be competing for awards in all main acting categories as well as Outstanding Drama Series.

Actors in contention include Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Sam Rockwell, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, and Aimee Lou Wood. You don’t necessarily have to see the first two seasons to understand The White Lotus season 3, but it makes for a much more fulfilling viewing experience if you do.

The Studio

Apple TV+’s The Studio tied The White Lotus for third-most 2025 Emmy nominations. It also broke Ted Lasso’s record for the most nominations for a comedy received for its first season. It already took home 9 Emmys at the Creative Emmy Awards, including Guest Actor for Bryan Cranston, Cinematography (Half-Hour), and Casting for a Comedy Series.

At just 10 episodes, most of them between 23 and 35 minutes, The Studio might be the most easily bingeable series of the entire 2025 Emmy pool. It has a great shot of winning Outstanding Comedy Series and taking home prizes in multiple acting categories for Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Seth Rogen.
