The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered one of the darkest batting collapses in Indian Premier League (IPL) history after getting bowled out for just 86 against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 12, 2026. Chasing a target of 169 on a difficult Ahmedabad surface, SRH’s aggressive batting lineup completely fell apart against a relentless pace attack led by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj.
The disastrous collapse not only handed Gujarat a massive 82-run victory but also pushed SRH to their lowest-ever all-out total in IPL history. From Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma to Heinrich Klaasen, none of the big names managed to survive the relentless pressure created by GT’s fast bowlers.
Five lowest all-out totals for SRH in the history of IPL
Here’s a look at the five lowest all-out totals registered by SRH in IPL history:
1. 86 vs Gujarat Titans, Ahmedabad, 2026
SRH recorded their worst batting performance ever while chasing 168 against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Rabada and Siraj ripped through the top order inside the powerplay, reducing Hyderabad to 34/4. The surface offered uneven bounce and seam movement throughout the innings, making strokeplay extremely difficult. Jason Holder and Prasidh Krishna cleaned up the middle and lower order as SRH were bowled out in just 14.5 overs. Pat Cummins top-scored with 19, while Rabada and Holder picked up three wickets each in a complete bowling masterclass.
2. 96 vs Mumbai Indians, Hyderabad, 2019
Before the Ahmedabad collapse, SRH’s lowest IPL total had come against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2019. Chasing 137 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, were demolished by debutant Alzarri Joseph, who produced one of the greatest bowling spells in IPL history. Joseph finished with stunning figures of 6/12, still the best bowling figures ever recorded in the tournament. David Warner fell in the very first over, and SRH never recovered from the early damage as they folded for 96 in 17.4 overs.
3. 113 vs Mumbai Indians, Hyderabad, 2015
Mumbai Indians once again feature on the list after crushing SRH during IPL 2015. Batting first in Hyderabad, SRH lost Warner and Shikhar Dhawan early before the innings completely collapsed under pressure. Mitchell McClenaghan and Lasith Malinga ran through the batting lineup with disciplined pace bowling, restricting Hyderabad to 113 all out. Mumbai later chased the target comfortably with Parthiv Patel and Lendl Simmons dominating the run chase.
4. 113 vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai, 2024 IPL Final
One of the most painful defeats in SRH history came during the IPL 2024 final against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). On the biggest stage of the season, Hyderabad’s explosive batting unit failed on a tricky Chennai surface. Mitchell Starc provided early breakthroughs while Andre Russell dismantled the middle order. SRH were bundled out for 113 in 18.3 overs, the lowest total ever recorded in an IPL final. KKR chased the target in just 10.3 overs to lift their third IPL title.
5. 114 vs Punjab Kings, Dubai, 2020
SRH suffered a dramatic collapse against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) during IPL 2020 in Dubai. Chasing a modest target of 127, Hyderabad appeared to be cruising at 100/3 before losing seven wickets for just 14 runs. Chris Jordan starred with the ball for Punjab Kings, picking up three wickets and delivering crucial breakthroughs at the death. Warner’s aggressive 35 at the top went in vain as SRH were bowled out for 114 in 19.5 overs.
