Tom Hardy’s gritty crime thriller series on Paramount+ has officially returned with its best season yet, based on its perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. The wait for MobLand season 2 is finally over after a 15-month hiatus between its season 1 finale and season 2 premiere on Friday, September 18, 2026. Hardy returns in what many consider to be his greatest TV role of all time as Harry Da Souza, a reserved yet dangerous fixer for a Landon-based crime family who is extremely tactical and loyal to a fault.
Those who’ve seen MobLand season 1 following its March 2025 debut know all about the Harrigans, a ruthless organized crime family who has a hand in just about all of London’s vices. They are led by Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad and Helen Mirren’s Maeve, who desperately cling to their empire by any means necessary, often having Harry do their dirty work for them. While season 1 was largely a face-off between the Harrigans and the rival Stevenson crime family, season 2 ups the stakes and introduces new threats from all angles.
MobLand Season 2 Is Already Off To A Phenomenal Start
The first episode of MobLand season 2 is finally out and has already proven that the returning gangster series is off to a phenomenal start. Following the aftermath of MobLand season 1, which placed both Conrad and Maeve at their weakest moments, season 2 quite literally comes out with guns blazing, suggesting from the first 10 minutes alone that season 2 will only pick up and expand on season 1’s gripping momentum. What’s more, Conrad’s gang also expands with new characters such as Fergus, played by Jack Archer, the eager nephew of Conrad’s henchman Paul (Emmett J. Scanlan).
Just like the explosive and stylized first episode of MobLand season 1, the MobLand season 2 premiere is also directed by Guy Ritchie, known for his signature flashy filmmaking aesthetic, especially in British crime dramas. Most of the Harrigan clan return for the sophomore effort as well, including Eddie (Anson Boon), the brash and defiant heir apparent to the Harrigan throne. Although Harry isn’t a member of the Harrigan family by blood, he is nearly treated as a son by Conrad and shares a long friendship with Conrad’s actual son Kevin (Paddy Considine), which makes him an extended family member of sorts – as long as he continues to protect the family.
MobLand Is The #1 Series To Watch On Paramount+ Right Now
While only the first of ten episodes of MobLand season 2 is currently available to stream on Paramount+, this is already being considered one of the can’t-miss streaming events of the year on the platform. The series has vastly improved from its 77% Rotten Tomatoes score for season 1 to a flawless 100% RT score for season 2, an impressive leap that only a handful of series have made before it. From the first episode alone, viewers can notice an increased pace to the series that gives it more urgency and makes every scene feel more intense.
Critics have given MobLand season 2 top marks across the board in early reviews. ScreenRant gave it 9/10 stars, noting, “the gritty gangster-crime drama on Paramount+ has improved in just about every conceivable way compared to its solid debut season.” Similarly, Collider gave it 8 out of 10 stars, writing, “MobLand is primed to be even bigger and better than ever before.” These reviews accounted for the first four episodes of MobLand season 2, which will arrive weekly on Fridays throughout Fall 2026.
MobLand has been surging on Paramount+’s worldwide viewership chart earlier this week in anticipation of its new season premiere. Now that it has finally arrived, expect MobLand to be one of the most-watched and talked-about series on the streamer for the foreseeable future. With Lioness season 3 wrapping up this Sunday, MobLand has a clear path to becoming the most popular Paramount+ show in the world, and with good reason.
